Safe, Sustainable, Connected

The BQE North and South: Safe, Sustainable, Connected report outlines the city’s vision to equitably reimagine the BQE North and South corridors in Brooklyn, particularly in long-underserved communities. The report presents dozens of near-, medium-, and long-term proposals, including streetscape and intersection redesigns, dedicated bike and bus infrastructure, highway capping, and new plazas. These proposals aim to improve safety, resilience, public space, and reconnect communities divided by the highway.
